Requirements
The Linux distributions, hardware and network ports OpsVibes needs.
Supported operating systems
OpsVibes runs on popular systemd-based Linux distributions. Use a fresh server that is not already running a web server or another control panel.
| Operating system | Versions | Architecture |
|---|---|---|
| UbuntuRecommended | 20.04, 22.04, 24.04 LTS | x86_64, arm64 |
| DebianRecommended | 11, 12 | x86_64, arm64 |
| Rocky Linux | 8, 9 | x86_64, arm64 |
| AlmaLinux | 8, 9 | x86_64, arm64 |
| Red Hat Enterprise Linux | 8, 9 | x86_64, arm64 |
| CentOS Stream | 9 | x86_64, arm64 |
| Fedora | 40, 41 | x86_64, arm64 |
Other distributions with Docker 24 or newer (Arch, openSUSE…) can still run OpsVibes with the Docker install, but they are not officially tested.
Hardware
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 1 vCPU | 2 vCPU or more |
| RAM | 2 GB | 4 GB or more |
| Disk | 20 GB | 40 GB SSD or more |
Builds need extra memory and disk space for Docker images. Size up if you run many apps or large databases.
Network ports
| Port | Used for |
|---|---|
80 | HTTP and Let's Encrypt verification |
443 | HTTPS for the panel and your apps |
3000 | First access to the panel before it has a domain. You can close it once the panel runs over HTTPS. |
The install script opens these ports for you. If you installed with Docker or manage the firewall yourself:
sudo ufw allow 22/tcp
sudo ufw allow 80,443,3000/tcp
sudo ufw enablesudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-service=http --add-service=https
sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=3000/tcp
sudo firewall-cmd --reloadMany cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle, Azure…) add a network firewall (security group). Open ports 80, 443 and 3000 there too.
Access
rootor a user withsudo.- A public IP, or a domain pointing to the server, to issue HTTPS certificates.
- Outbound Internet access to pull Docker images and code from GitHub.
